I once read somewhere that without dark clouds in our lives, we would never know the joy of sunshine.
The Mexican official tourism promotion council and site (Visit Mexico) put this to test by developing a whole lot of rain for German travellers as part of a specific tourism campaign targeting German tourists!
Germany is the number two importer of tequila from Mexico & is very rainy throughout the year. This is why Visit Mexico chose to set up an exhibit in Berlin that featured a tequila cloud as part of a promotion campaign tempting German visitors into Mexico during its rainiest month!
Yes, you read that right! A cloud that literally rains tequila!
The cloud was developed through the use of ultrasonic humidifiers which vibrate the tequila into mist before the spirit is condensed and falls like rain drops. When it rained, the cloud was also programmed to rain tequila.
It lifted the spirits of rain-soaked Germans passing by giving them a taste of sunshine in the rain! A quick sip of tequila and it appeared that in the dark German clouds appeared silver lining; tequila!
I definitely wouldn’t mind a tequila getaway when it rains! Would you?
