EatOut Kenya Wins Prestigious Tourism Award

by Kevin Wandu

Since its inception three years ago, Eat Out’s restaurant guide and booking service has grown exponentially to seat over 50,000 diners in Nairobi in 2011, generating over Ksh100 million in revenue for restaurant owners.

Eat Out Kenya in conjunction with Yummy.co.ke would therefore  like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support.  We quite recently won the Kenya Tourism Award for Best Digital Media and it is a milestone we wouldn’t have achieved without you. The glamorous black-tie event was held on the 22nd of June 2012 at the Carnivore grounds. Organized by Kenya Tourism Federation the awards were attended by the who’s who of the tourism industry in the country.

To add onto the good news, Eat Out is heading for some really exciting times. It has recently secured investment from a Dutch venture capital fund, AMVF, which will allow us to grow into the region, including Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda. The investment will also allow us to continue to build the Eat Out platform here in Kenya and launch Eat In. We hope you will continue to support us the same way this year.
