EatOut Supports Mathare Soup Kitchen Initiative

by Kevin Wandu

Last Sunday, as part of our annual Nairobi Restaurant Week CSR campaign, the entire EatOut team ventured out to cook and serve food to the people of Mathare in collaboration with Joy Divine – a fantastic organization that for ten years has been providing a home for kids who want to get off the streets, attend school, and have the hope of becoming who they were created to be.

We spent the day meeting with the amazing people behind the organization, the children it benefits and the community of Mathare, preparing and serving beef stew, pilau, chapatti and bananas.

If like us you feel privileged to have been able to enjoy #NRW2017 and would like to learn more about Joy Divine, check out their two Facebook pages, Joy Divine Children and Joy Divine Gives Back, or contact Frederick Mwaura on 0721 811 170.

This year, EatOut’s primary CSR partner was Farm Africaan international organization that works to build a prosperous rural Africa. They help farmers to increase their harvests to build their incomes and sustain natural resources, partnering with governments and the private sector finding effective ways to fight poverty and promote sustainable farming methods.

We thank the people of Nairobi for making NRW2017 a success and look forward to continuing the tradition of feeding the people of Nairobi – either through the gastronomic scene of Nairobi or by supporting the amazing people of organizations like Joy Divine and Farm Africa.
