What we know as Nairobi’s tallest building is about to change after Hilton Worldwide recently announced plans to construct a 43 storey complex in Upperhill. The complex will have 255 rooms and will be part of the 11 billion twin tower building, Hass Towers. Hilton’s expansion is bench marked on their plans to increase their footprint in Africa from 39 hotels to over 80 hotels in the next five years.
The 67- storey tower, whose construction has already began will be Africa’s tallest building standing at 330 meters. The construction is scheduled to be completed by 2020 where Hilton hotel will be in the shorter twin tower while the other will be an office block.
The complex is set to include a business hub as well as a four level basement car parking facility. It will be home to a four level retail and entertainment section offering multiple food and beverage outlets including a poolside bar, a smokehouse and grill restaurant, a lobby dining area with a landscaped deck and a rooftop bar with a magical view of the Nairobi skyline.
