When a time comes and all you crave is a tender flavourful meat with crispy skin that crackles between your teeth, avoid the temptation of grabbing your phone a dialling a restaurant to deliver and instead accept the challenge to make it yourself.
There are two ways you can make fried chicken, you can either make it have a soft and moist skin or a crunchy and crispy skin.
While different people have different tips and tricks they use to make their chicken skin crispy, we have these tips which can sort you out on your next chicken roasting experience.
- Make sure the chicken skin is patted dry. It needs to be as dry as possible. Use blotting paper
- Refrigerate it overnight
- On the next day, rub your chicken with olive oil and sprinkle any desired spices you like
- Place the chicken skin-side down in a dry, non-stick tray pan over a medium heat.
- Once the chicken skin achieves a nice, golden colour, turn them over so the skin is facing up, then put the pan in the oven to finish cooking.
And that’s how you achieve a perfectly crispy skin chicken!
